About the Starters
Every great kitchen is a battlefield of opposing forces. In our house, that battlefield is divided by a single black granite countertop: On one side is the Baker—obsessive, precise, and hopelessly fixated on the perfect culinary science. For me, cooking isn't a casual hobby; it's a deep-rooted passion. It's where science, math and art come together. Calculating flour protein percentages down to a decimal point, and tracking down the exact grade of silicone that won't give out under intense heat. To me, a recipe isn't just an instruction booklet; it's a chemical equation that demands absolute respect. On the other side of the counter is my partner in crime—the ultimate Host. Where I see science, they see show and presentation. They are deeply in love with filling our home with family, friends, and absolute chaos. They live for the music, the laughter, the perfectly curated table setting, and the joy of keeping everyone fed and hydrated. But with great hospitality comes great responsibility .
